Thom Bargen

A Downtown Coffee Shop

Story by Simeon Rusnak March 22nd, 2016

Second location

Thom Bargen Coffee opened their second location this past week. A clean, minimal aesthetic with plenty of windows allows visitors a bright and open space. The “living wall” provides a fantastic colour pop and unique feature!

Finding a style

As a young photographer, one of the most difficult aspects of the visual medium is finding a unique voice. Bombarded with presets, new cameras, fancy lenses (and the list goes on), I have found it tough to find “my look.” For this assignment, I used both digital - for clean and crisp imagery - in combination with film - for a more raw and editorial look.

Finally, I feel as though I have found something on which I can build. The joint workflow, although tedious, provided just the “look” for which I was hoping!
